Senior Procurement & Demand Planner

Role Overview

Demand Planning and Forecasting

• Own demand forecasting across categories using historical sales, promotions, seasonality, and category growth plans.
• Run a regular S&OP cadence with Commercial, Category Management, and Operations.
• Track forecast accuracy and bias and refine models and assumptions.
• Translate campaigns and promotions into incremental demand and procurement requirements.

Strategic Procurement

• Develop category procurement strategies balancing cost, service level, and supply continuity.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, rebates, and service-level agreements.
• Build supplier segmentation and performance frameworks.
• Identify alternate suppliers and manage supplier contract renewals and business reviews.

Inventory and Working Capital

• Set stock cover and safety stock levels by category.
• Identify slow-moving, excess, and at-risk stock and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with Finance to monitor inventory investment against budgets and working-capital targets.

Team and Process Governance

• Lead, coach, and develop Procurement Coordinators and review ordering and supplier performance.
• Establish procurement and planning SOPs across categories and stores.
• Improve Odoo and related planning tools to increase forecasting and ordering efficiency.

Reporting and Stakeholders

• Present forecast accuracy, service-level, and inventory performance reports to senior leadership.
• Escalate major supply risks and coordinate mitigation plans.
• Partner with Commercial, Operations, and Finance on category growth and supply plans.

Candidate Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in procurement, demand planning, or supply chain roles, including at least two years in a senior or team-lead capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations and improving forecast accuracy or service levels.
• Experience managing or mentoring junior procurement or planning staff.
• Experience with ERP and inventory or order management platforms; Odoo is preferred.
• Working knowledge of BI and reporting tools.
• Strong quantitative and statistical skills for forecasting and inventory modelling.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience in FMCG, grocery retail, e-commerce, or Q-Commerce is strongly preferred.
• A master’s degree or CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification is an advantage.
