This role focuses on Design for Manufacturing, planning, prototyping, tooling, and production process optimization while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve quality, reduce cost, and enhance manufacturability. The engineer serves as the manufacturing owner for purchased hardware, driving all aspects of its production readiness and performance.
• Design for Manufacturing- work with design team to develop designs that are ready for manufacturing efficiently
• Manufacturing Planning: Create production plans, work instructions, partner with operations to coordinate resources, and monitor process success to meet project requirements and deadlines
• Prototyping and Testing: Develop and oversee prototype manufacturing, testing and validation processes to ensure that aerospace components meet design specifications and performance requirements
• Process Development: Design and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace component and systems, considering factors such as materials, machinery, tooling, and labor
• Collaborative Work: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineer, quality control specialists, and supply chain specialists to address issues and ensure smooth production operations
