Senior Planning Engineer

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop baseline, procurement, design, and construction programmes with the project management team.
• Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline and report variances.
• Identify delays, critical activities, and project risks.
• Prepare recovery plans and revised schedules with project managers and site teams.
• Coordinate schedule updates with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for senior management and clients.
• Produce progress curves, dashboards, manpower reports, and look-ahead schedules.
• Review subcontractor programmes and monitor performance against milestones.
• Support extension of time claims and delay analysis with contracts and commercial teams.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• 10 to 15 years of construction planning experience, including work with major construction companies.
• Proven experience on large-scale building and infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with baseline schedules, schedule updates, recovery plans, and delay analysis.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, resource planning, and progress measurement.
• Good understanding of construction sequences, project milestones, and critical path methodology.
• Familiarity with delay analysis techniques and extension of time claim support.

Certifications and Languages

• PMP or a relevant planning certification is preferred.
• English is mandatory for the role.
• Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
