Senior Planner / Principal Planner / Associate

Leading the development and implementation of planning strategies and policies to support sustainable growth and development across the UK.

Managing planning applications, appeals, and consultations in accordance with relevant policy, legislation and best practices.

Conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, and impact assessments to inform decision-making processes.

Engaging with local communities, businesses, and government agencies to foster positive relationships and address planning-related issues.

Providing expert advice and guidance on planning matters to clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Drafting Planning Statements, Planning Appraisals and Statements of Case in support of planning applications and planning appeals.

Monitoring legislative changes, emerging trends, and best practices in planning and urban planning to inform decision-making and strategy development.

previous experience in a Planning role (ideally from within local government, consultancy or development industry)

a relevant Planning qualification (or working towards one)

membership of RTPI or working towards membership

an understanding of the planning process and systems

excellent writing skills with a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy

excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner

ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently
