Operational Management
- To strive for continuous improvement of both technical and business knowledge
- To assist with the development of new team standards, methodologies and processes to increase both the quality and efficiency of the development work
- Responsibility to develop quick to market, high quality IT solutions within an agile environment
- This will require full project exposure from start up to completion
- Extremely adaptable and quick to pick up new business concepts within a unique business environment
- Engage proactively with stakeholders and other cross-functional team members in the development of IT solutions
People Leadership
- Work within a team of developers assisting in:
- time estimates
- task allocations
- problem solving
- Provision of regular feedback, mentoring, coaching and assistance to the team’s development needs
Governance & Risk
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
- Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices
Experience & Personal Attributes
- 6 to 9 years development experience with Oracle Database version 9i /10g / 11g /12c
- Manage all phases of the SDLC from analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance.
Primary Skills
- Create and maintain indexes, constraints, tables, PL/SQL store procedures & packages and produce queries to answer business questions.
- Create numerous simple to complex queries involving self joins, correlate sub-queries, functions, cursors, dynamic SQL.
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL / PL-SQL
- Package creation and maintenance
- Using system-supplied packages

- Database backup and recovery
- DECLARE, BEGIN & EXCEPTION clause
- Designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.
- Design, create, and implement database systems based on the end user's requirements.
- Improve application's performances.
- Prepare documentations for database applications.
- Memory management for database systems.
- Develop database schemas, tables and dictionaries.
- Ensure the data quality and integrity in databases.
- Fix any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
- Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
- Take regular database backup.
- Test databases and perform bug fixes.
- Provide authentication and authorizations for Database
- Develop best practices for database design and development activities.
- Good understanding of data modelling and database schema design principals
- Data normalization
- Knowledge of database optimization techniques
- Exceptional analytical skills in order to analyse and interpret business needs, and to provide constructive input into the development and technology solutions
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
Secondary Skills
- Exposure to cloud technologies, e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective inter-departmental and organisational relationships
- Sound organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
- Self-motivated with a strong team spirit. Strong work ethic
