Role Overview

A leading freight forwarding company is seeking a Senior Operations Executive for its Andheri East, Mumbai operations.

The role independently handles air and sea import/export activities and leads a team of 3-5 employees.

Workplace and Location

  • The position is based in Andheri East, Mumbai and is described as work from office.
  • The role covers operations involving JNPT and air cargo locations.

Compensation and Joining

  • The advertised salary is Rs. 40,000-50,000 plus bonus.
  • Immediate joining is requested, with immediate joiners near Andheri East preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle air and sea freight files, including FCL, LCL, and airfreight, from booking through delivery.
  • Manage bills of lading, air waybills, shipping bills, bills of entry, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, CHAs, transporters, and overseas agents.
  • Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, provide milestone updates, and handle escalations.
  • Lead a team of 3-5, allocate work, and review files.
  • Manage billing and costing and prepare daily MIS reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, E-way Bill, SEZ/FTWZ, and customs SOPs.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Have 8-10 years of experience in freight forwarding, CHA, or 3PL operations in Mumbai.
  • Independently handle both air and sea import/export operations.
  • Have strong knowledge of Incoterms 2020, HS Codes, and customs procedures.
  • Use an ERP system such as CargoWise, Logi-Sys, or Softlink and have advanced Excel skills.
  • Be able to handle 15-20 files simultaneously.
  • Have a graduate degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma in logistics, IATA qualification, or FIATA qualification is preferred.
