Role Overview

Role overview
The Senior Advisor, Operations Cost Controls owns the OPEX forecast and cost performance reporting for one or more Oil Sands sites.
The role owns the full cost cycle from monthly reporting through annual budgeting and long-range planning.
The advisor partners with site leadership to explain results, manage risks and opportunities, and drive corrective action.
Workplace and travel
- This is a full-time employee position based in the downtown Calgary office.
- The role includes occasional travel to Oil Sands sites.
Responsibilities
- Own monthly OPEX forecasts, including assumptions, exposures, risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
- Partner with site and corporate stakeholders on cost reporting and forecasting.
- Maintain cost breakdown structures at cost centre and AFE levels.
- Prepare and quality-check monthly accruals.
- Develop variance analyses and present cost reviews to site leadership and field management.
- Lead annual budgeting and long-range planning for assigned sites.
- Build business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and financial justifications for operating decisions.
