About the Role
Ampstek is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for an onsite contract role in Dubai, UAE. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining critical IT network infrastructure, serving as a Level 2 escalation point, and delivering projects.

Responsibilities
- Perform as Level 2 technical escalation point for all network related incidents, performing deep dive analysis, packet captures, and root cause analysis
- Manage and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and solutions, ensuring compliance with RTO and RPO
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and/or EIGRP
- Perform firewall administration, VPNs (Site to Site and Remote Access), and network security policies
- Monitor network performance using advanced tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Dynatrace) to ensure optimal health and capacity utilization
- Develop and maintain accurate network topology diagrams, configuration standards, and technical documentation
- Adhere to change management process and procedures for efficient use and handling of resource changes
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all network components, working with security team on vulnerability management
- Provide technical delivery of IT infrastructure projects related to network
- Design, plan, and implement complex, resilient, and high performance network solutions across multi site and datacentre environments including cloud services
- Collaborate with Network Architects and other IT teams to define the network technology roadmap
- Provide 24x7 support for network related incidents and problems

- Mandatory skills: Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, Spanning Tree, Cisco IOS/NX OS)
- Wireless: Cisco, HP Aruba, Cisco ISE, ClearPass
- Network Security: Next Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper), IDS/IPS, VPN, NAT, ACLs, Cloud WAF
- Load balancing: F5, Citrix NetScaler, ALB
- AWS: Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, ALB, Security groups, NACLs
- ITIL Foundation
- Automation: Proficiency in Python or Ansible for network configuration management and orchestration
- Monitoring: SNMP, NetFlow, QoS, advanced use of NPM tools
- Cloud Networking: Connectivity to major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), VNet/VPC design, cloud firewall integration
- Industry standards: Certifications for network related requirements such as ISO27001
- Desired: Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Aruba certifications)

- Knowledge of SD WAN, SASE, or Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).

- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience in documentation, SOP creation, RCA, and transition activities.
Operations & Engineering
- Perform as Level 2 technical escalation point for all network related incidents, performing deep dive analysis, packet captures, and root cause analysis.
- Manage and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and solutions, ensuring compliance with RTO and RPO.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and/or EIGRP.
- Perform firewall administration, VPNs (Site to Site and Remote Access), and network security policies.
- Monitor network performance using advanced tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Dynatrace) to ensure optimal health and capacity utilization.
- Develop and maintain accurate network topology diagrams, configuration standards, and technical documentation.
- Ability to capture and interpret Wireshark logs for in depth packet level analysis.
- Adhere to change management process and procedures for efficient use and handling of resource changes.
- Hands on experience with firewalls, routers, bridges, switches and gateway devices.
- Hands on experience with AWS including Direct connect, transit gateway, ALB, Security groups etc.
- Highly skilled in network oriented problem solving, critical thinking and troubleshooting.
- Able to handle private and confidential information with physical and ethical care.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all network components, working closely with the security team on vulnerability management and remediation.
- Ensure all networks and their processes adhere to regulatory and internal compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SOC).
Project & Operations Support
- Provide technical delivery of IT infrastructure projects related to network.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for complex networks and procedures.
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet project milestones and support SLAs.
Network Architecture & Design
- Design, plan, and implement complex, resilient, and high performance network solutions (e.g., routing, switching, wireless, firewall, load balancing) across multi site and datacentre environments including cloud services (IaaS, PaaS).
- Collaborate with Network Architects and other IT teams to define the network technology roadmap and ensure network designs align with strategic business objectives.
- Maintain network roadmap and architecture standards, ensuring new solutions align with security requirements and industry best practices.
- Support proof of concept efforts and technical evaluations of emerging technologies.
Audit & Compliance
- Collaborate with IT, audit, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with organization policies, regulations & standards.
- Prepare, update, and keep documentation and artifacts in place required for alignment with organization policies, regulations & standards.
Security
- Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and network security technologies.
- Ensure organization is always kept safe from network related threats.
Support
- Provide 24x7 support for network related incidents and problems.
- Provide level 2 support (as subject matter expert) for the relevant network solutions & services.
