Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists Windsor, ON for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team.
In this role you will be responsible for the design and execution of projects ranging in size and complexity, with a focus on civic, industrial, healthcare, commercial and educational projects.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing technical mentorship to junior and intermediate mechanical staff, developing and maintaining new and existing clients, coordinating skillsets with other offices and disciplines, and satisfying customer requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and being responsible for mechanical engineering drawings and specifications, Project Managing and/or working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Designing building-related mechanical systems including HVAC, Hydronics, Plumbing, Fuels, Controls, and Fire Protection systems using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials. Focus will be on concept design, while working with the buildings mechanical team to develop full design packages.
- Preparing detailed engineering design calculations.
- Preparing contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
- Writing reports analyzing mechanical problems and providing engineering solutions and recommendations.
- Preparing Technical Specifications and documents for bidding and construction.
- Providing strong technical mentorship to junior and intermediate mechanical engineers and technologists, including markups for REVIT MEP and AutoCAD drawings, instruction in design calculations, interpretation of codes, and completing peer reviews of documents developed by the mechanical team.
- Nurturing and maintaining strong client relationships in and for execution of projects, and as appropriate participate in marketing/business development.
- Determining the scope and fee for proposed engineering services.
- Supporting specific sales, proposal, and project efforts.
