Responsibilities
- Review and assess material specifications, schedules of finishes, product data sheets, samples, mock up proposals, technical submissions, and engineering documentation
- Verify compliance with approved material standards, project specifications, technical requirements, and Client's design guidelines
- Evaluate material suitability, performance, durability, maintainability, sustainability, aesthetics, and lifecycle characteristics
- Review architectural finishes, façade systems, paving materials, hardscape elements, landscape materials, street furniture, and infrastructure related material proposals
- Ensure consistency with approved architectural concepts, urban design objectives, public realm strategies, and environmental conditions
- Assess material compatibility with climatic conditions, operational requirements, maintenance strategies, and long term asset performance
- Coordinate multidisciplinary material reviews with Design Manager, Technical Manager, Senior Urban Planning Specialist, and Program Technical Team
- Review material related design changes, technical deviations, and Value Engineering proposals, evaluating impact on quality, durability, sustainability, functionality, cost, maintainability, aesthetics, and lifecycle performance
- Assess material testing reports, certification documentation, mock ups, and approval submissions to ensure compliance
- Prepare technical assessments, material review comments, executive summaries, and recommendations for Design Manager, PMCM Management, and Client
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Materials Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline
- Chartered Professional membership or equivalent professional accreditation
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of professional experience in construction materials, architectural finishes, infrastructure materials, public realm developments, urban development, or major capital projects
- Experience within PMCM, PMC, consultancy, developer, contractor, testing laboratories, or client side organizations, preferably on large scale infrastructure and land development projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC
- Strong knowledge of materials engineering, technical review, and compliance processes
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, strategic thinking, and problem solving skills

Job Purpose
- HanmiGlobal is seeking a highly qualified Senior Materials Engineer to join our program management and PMCM team in Saudi Arabia.
- In this role, you will deliver program level materials engineering expertise and technical assurance for a mega multi work package land and infrastructure development program in Riyadh, delivered on behalf of a major government entity.
- You will provide program level technical expertise, material assurance, and collaborative design support for reviewing and monitoring all material related specifications and submissions across the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess material specifications, schedules of finishes, product data sheets, samples, mock up proposals, technical submissions, and engineering documentation prepared by Lead Developers and consultants.
- Verify compliance with approved material standards, project specifications, technical requirements, and Client's design guidelines.
- Evaluate material suitability, performance, durability, maintainability, sustainability, aesthetics, and lifecycle characteristics to ensure long term operational efficiency.
