Key Responsibilities: 1. Analyze requirements and prepare high-level and low-level designs. 2. Develop and optimize COBOL programs for batch and online systems. 3. Write and maintain JCL jobs, utilities, and scheduling dependencies. 4. Design and manage DB2 schemas, SQL queries, and performance tuning. 5. Create and maintain VSAM datasets and IDCAMS scripts. 6. Configure and enhance CICS transactions, COMMAREA, and BMS maps. 7. Perform unit, integration, and system testing; debug using Abend-AID/Xpediter. 8. Manage code promotion through Endevor/Changeman and ensure compliance. 9. Support production systems, troubleshoot abends, and optimize batch windows. 10. Mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards.
COBOL: Advanced programming, modular design, performance tuning. 2. JCL: Complex job setup, PROC usage, utilities (SORT, IDCAMS). 3. DB2: Advanced SQL, joins, cursors, stored procedures, bind/package management. 4. VSAM: KSDS/ESDS design, IDCAMS scripting, recovery strategies. 5. CICS: Transaction design, pseudo-conversational programming, resource definitions. 6. Familiarity with TSO/ISPF, File-AID, Abend-AID/Xpediter, and job schedulers (CA7/Control-M). 7. Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and change management. 8. Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
