About the Role
Altara Law seeks an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide high-quality legal advice, supervise junior lawyers, and manage complex local and international matters.

Responsibilities
- Provide high quality legal advice to clients across UAE, Australian and UK related matters
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, shareholder agreements, service agreements, employment contracts, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
- Prepare court documents, pleadings, witness statements, submissions, affidavits, legal notices and supporting documentation
- Assist with litigation, arbitration, DIFC Court proceedings and dispute resolution matters
- Conduct detailed legal research and prepare legal memoranda, opinions and briefing notes
- Manage files and matters from inception through to completion
- Liaise directly with clients, courts, regulators, government authorities and external counsel
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals
- Review legal drafting and ensure consistent quality standards across the firm
- Assist in developing legal precedents, templates and knowledge management resources
- Deliver internal legal training and professional development sessions
- Work closely with partners on strategic legal matters and client engagements
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer admitted in the UAE, England & Wales, Australia or another recognised common law jurisdiction
- Minimum 8 years post qualification experience
- Strong law firm experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in legal drafting, litigation support, commercial transactions and client advisory work
- Experience preparing court documents and managing legal matters independently
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior legal professionals
- Excellent legal research, analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
