About the Role
UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to manage commercial legal activities for the group in Qatar. The role involves drafting complex contracts for EPC projects, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic legal advice.

Responsibilities
- Advise, prepare, draft, review, comment and/or negotiate complex contractual documents for local or international EPC projects
- Participate in the review and negotiation process of various tenders and contracts with clients
- Provide legal advice and opinions on risks and related commercial issues
- Assist in supporting general business law issues and managing legal issues across the Company
- Determine legal risks connected with business strategy and operations
- Assess compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations
- Ensure awareness of business employees for compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law
- Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position
- 2 years GCC experience is a plus
- Advanced expertise in construction law, including project finance, joint ventures and consortiums
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills

Job Summary
- The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible to assist in determining all commercial legal activities of the Group and to help ensure that they are carried out in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and charters of the companies within the Group.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Contribute to the development of PIH’s vision, mission and strategy and lead the development of the business unit’s strategy
- Advise, prepare, draft, review, comment and/or negotiate complex contractual documents for local or international EPC projects
- Participate in the review and negotiation process of various tenders and contracts with clients
- Provide legal advice and opinions on risks and related commercial issues
- Assist in supporting general business law issues and managing legal issues of all areas of the Company
- Determine the legal risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations
- Assess the compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations
- Ensure that the awareness of business employees for compliance with relevant laws and regulations is created and maintained
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced expertise in construction law, including project finance, Joint ventures and consortiums
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills to navigate complex legal issues and provide strategic counsel
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities to represent the organization in high stakes negotiations and legal proceedings
- Extensive experience in drafting and reviewing complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements
- Leadership capabilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to junior legal staff
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role
Job Experience
- Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
