Senior Lecturer / Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering

Requirements

• About You
• · Deliver and assess undergraduate modules in Mechanical Engineering and related areas
• · Develop and update teaching materials in line with current academic and industry developments.
• · Contribute to the design, validation, and enhancement of academic programmes.
• · Prepare and moderate assessments in accordance with LJMU academic regulations and assessment frameworks.
• · Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and provide academic mentoring to students.
• · Engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with the University’s strategic priorities.
• · Collaborate with industry partners and advisory boards to enhance programme relevance.
• · Contribute to the delivery of continuing professional development (CPD) and short courses.
• · Participate in academic committees, departmental meetings, and institutional initiatives.
• · Commit to continuous professional development and support the university’s growth and quality enhancement strategies.
• Qualifications and Experience
• Essential:
• · A PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• · Proven experience in teaching and research at the University level.
• · Exposure to Mechatronics, preferred.
• · Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• · Evidence of commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, and student success.
• · Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Desirable:
• · A track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications.
• · Experience in curriculum design, module leadership, and quality assurance.
