About the Role
Oryx University invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant position in Geotechnical Engineering under a competitively funded research project supported by QRDI. The role is suited to a highly motivated candidate with strong experimental, analytical, and numerical modelling capabilities, who can actively contribute to advanced geotechnical research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- · Independently perform advanced geotechnical laboratory testing
- · Ensure laboratory testing is conducted in accordance with relevant standards and best practices.
- · Analyse experimental results, interpret soil behaviour, and provide technical commentary and recommendations.
- · Identify testing or data-related issues and take corrective or improvement actions when required.
- · Contribute to the modification and optimisation of laboratory testing procedures.
- · Perform numerical modelling and analysis using PLAXIS 2D.
- · Prepare high-quality technical and research reports, including data interpretation and discussion.
- · Support literature reviews and contribute to research outputs linked to project objectives.
- · Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team while maintaining a high level of independence.
