Role Overview
Senior backend software engineering role supporting secure, scalable, reliable, and high-performance digital banking services.
The role requires strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, and REST APIs.
Work Arrangement
- Day 1 onsite in Phoenix, Arizona, with a minimum of three onsite days per week.
- Flexible work-from-home options are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Java microservices and REST APIs.
- Build distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka.
- Develop reliable and high-performance backend services.
- Implement fault tolerance, resiliency, caching, and high-availability solutions.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Support CI/CD, automated testing, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and operations teams.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Eight or more years of software development experience.
- Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.
- Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and integration patterns.
- Experience with Kafka or Kafka Streams.
- Experience with Spring Batch, JUnit, JDBC, and Maven or Gradle.
- Experience with Jenkins, Git, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or NoSQL databases, Docker, and cloud or platform environments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Generative AI, LLM, RAG, embeddings, or vector search experience.
- AWS and cloud-native architecture experience.
- Redis or Cassandra experience.
- Knowledge of MCP and AI guardrails.
- Banking, fintech, payment, or financial services experience.
- Python, Hadoop, or Spark experience.
Compensation
- Salary is listed as USD 120,000 to USD 130,000 yearly.
