About the Role
Brunel is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer for a role in Doha, Qatar, supporting instrumentation and fire & gas engineering activities during startup and handover.

Responsibilities
- Plan and support Instrumentation/Fire & Gas (F&G) Engineering activities during startup phase until handover to permanent asset
- Provide Instrument/F&G engineering supports including design reviews (SIL workshops, HAZOP, etc.), commissioning, startup, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting
- Support development and implementation of surveillance and administration programs for critical Instrument and F&G Systems
- Support definition and implementation of integrity program for Instrument/F&G to achieve high standards of safety, reliability and availability
- Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions
- Supervise activities undertaken by contractors, consultants and service providers
- Guide less experienced engineers in implementing company integrity and reliability systems
- Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie in requirements for all systems under area of responsibility
- Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks
- Support high risk commissioning activities for high complexities & large scale projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 6 years' experience in an oil and gas environment
- Good working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G Systems, Anti Surge Control Systems, Metering Systems, and Turbine/Compressor Control Systems
- Full knowledge of SIL requirement
- Able to work and make decisions under highly stressing conditions
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Strong leadership & people skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, CONVAL, InstruCal)

Job Overview
- Plan and support Instrumentation/Fire & Gas (F&G) Engineering activities with Sr. Engineer level competency during startup phase until handover to permanent asset.
- Ensure project deliverables meet Operations expectations in terms of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of Instrument/F&G engineering supports including design reviews (e.g., SIL workshops, assessment and verification, HAZOP, etc.), commissioning, startup, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
- Support development and implementation of surveillance and administration programs for critical Instrument and F&G Systems of new projects.
- Support the definition and implementation of integrity program for Instrument/F&G to achieve high standards of safety, reliability and availability.
- Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements.
- Supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants and service providers.
- Guide less experienced engineers in implementing the company integrity and reliability systems.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- 6 years' experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Demonstrate good working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G Systems, Anti Surge Control Systems, Metering Systems, and Turbine/Compressor Control Systems and full knowledge of SIL requirement.
