Description
Ledcor is seeking a Senior HS&E Advisor to apply professional Health, Safety and Environment practices at an infrastructure project worksite.
The role reports to the Manager, HS&E and applies the HS&E management system, HS&E Plan, and jurisdictional requirements with moderate guidance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support hazard assessments to identify and control unsafe conditions and behaviors associated with work processes.
- Participate in HS&E inspections and focus audits, report findings, and verify corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audit preparation and participation.
- Collect incident, inspection, and audit data to track performance and identify improvement areas.
- Generate reports communicating results, findings, and recommendations.
- Advise operations management and subcontractors on HS&E requirements with manager guidance.
- Support implementation of the subcontractor management program.
- Create incident notifications and participate in investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Coordinate review of incident findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Support occupational injury and illness management and monitor return-to-work processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant HS&E, trade, or industry experience.
- High school diploma required, or a degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
- NCSO or CSO completion is preferred.
- Actively pursuing CRSP, CSP, or another HS&E professional designation is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of OHS programs, policies, and requirements.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and aptitude for learning other software systems.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to explain information, persuade others, and solve standard problems through analysis.
Working Conditions
- This is a site-based position in Whitby, Ontario.
- Physical effort such as walking is required.
Compensation
- The expected base pay range is $90,900 to $121,200.
