Senior Functional Analyst

Lead stakeholder workshops to gather, document, and validate business requirements and define ESS functionality scope.

Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional requirements, serving as the liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.

Facilitate Scrum Master activities, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, while managing epics, user stories, tasks, and product backlogs to support delivery.

Develop end-to-end process diagrams, documenting as-is and to-be processes to support ESS solution design and implementation.

Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for enhancement and process efficiency across product delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Technical Teams, and Change Management, to support solution design, testing, and implementation.

Review and validate vendor design documentation to ensure alignment, consistency, and traceability with business requirements.

Support SIT/UAT testing, issue triage, root cause analysis, solution validation, and operational readiness activities, including cutover planning.

Maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, traceability, change management, and delivery artifacts.

Analyze and report on data to identify metrics, KPIs, and business insights that support solution design and delivery decisions.

Facilitate stakeholder alignment and consensus on business requirements, priorities, and delivery decisions.

Provide expertise on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, electricity market operations, and emerging technologies within the electric utility sector.

Support organizational adoption through training, communications, and change readiness activities.

Contribute to the ongoing design, development, and enhancement of the ESS product, ensuring it continues to meet evolving business and market needs.

Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, or a related role.

Experience in the electric utility industry is considered an asset.

Experience as a Scrum Master and working within Agile product teams using user stories, backlog management, sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and sprints.

Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand system architecture, APIs, data models, system integrations, and cloud-based applications.

Experience with SQL, Excel, data analysis, data visualization tools, JavaScript, Python, Azure DevOps, and reporting or dashboard development.

Proven experience leading or supporting large-scale system implementations, including legacy system modernization, new technology deployments, and end-to-end solution delivery.

Experience working across Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.

Experience leading analysis and design activities across complex system implementations and supporting products throughout their lifecycle.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, technical, vendor, and cross-functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving business needs, timelines, and delivery objectives.

Experience with change management principles and methodologies to support stakeholder engagement and organizational adoption.

Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects that drive measurable business value.

Experience working as a Functional Analyst on a Product Team, including leading requirements activities, facilitating delivery, mentoring team members, and supporting the product lifecycle.
