Workplace

• This is a remote role with occasional attendance required at the Winnersh office.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production features in a React 18+ TypeScript application.
• Own and improve the Vite development and build pipeline, including custom plugin configuration.
• Build reusable, accessible, responsive components with Ant Design and custom SCSS.
• Integrate frontend features with AWS Amplify, AppSync, GraphQL schemas, and client-side data-fetching patterns.
• Implement internationalization and maintain reliable unit and integration tests.
• Improve performance, usability, accessibility, maintainability, developer experience, and engineering standards.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions and investigate production issues and technical debt.

• Ability to work independently in an established codebase and improve existing conventions.
• Strong architectural judgment, testing practices, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong attention to accessibility, maintainability, performance, and user experience.

Required technical skills

• React, TypeScript, modern frontend architecture, and Vite or a comparable build tool.
• Component libraries such as Ant Design or Material UI, CSS and Sass/SCSS, responsive design, and web accessibility.
• React Router or comparable routing, AWS Amplify, GraphQL, AppSync, authentication, and API integration.
• Internationalization frameworks such as i18next or react-i18next.
• Vitest or Jest, Testing Library, MSW or comparable mocking, jsdom, ESLint, dependency management, and security practices.

Qualifications

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• AWS certification is highly desirable but not essential.
