Responsibilities
- Manage all student tuition and fee assessments in Workday Student for both campuses
- Manage the Tuition Allocation Model (TAM) which allocates tuition revenue across faculties
- Develop short and long range strategic financial plans and annual budget for Enrolment Services
- Monitor overall financial effectiveness and efficiency of all units within ES
- Develop and implement unit level policy, standards and procedures for financial and accounting issues
- Design, develop, control, manage, and direct accounting activities for ES
- Manage and direct the work of several staff members
- Prepare complex U Pass reporting and remittance requirements
- Prepare complex reconciliation of student accounts
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
- Completion of the CPA accounting program (CA, CGA or CMA)
- Minimum of five years of related experience
- Experience with reconciliations and analysis and interpretation of financial data
- Proficiency in computer and financial management systems
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Summary
- The Senior Financial Analyst manages the specialized and complex financial activities of the Student Financial Management unit.
- Responsible for administration of central University functions such as tuition and fees assessment and collection, tax slips, tuition waivers, and U Pass.
- Annual tuition and fee assessments amount to over CAD 900 million.
Work Performed
- Tuition and Student Fees: Responsible for development, design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of all system changes affecting tuition and fee assessments.
- Implements new program and tuition fees approved by the Board of Governors in Workday Student.
- Assesses existing fee assessment rules and recommends changes.
- Creates and maps student financial data to Workday financial management system.
- Provides expert advice to faculties on tuition fee impact.
- Conducts broad financial analyses on tuition revenue projections and allocation.
- Prepares tuition consultation materials and annual board dockets.
- Responsible for accuracy of tuition tax credit eligible amounts on T2202 and T4A.
- Prepares complex U Pass reporting and remittance requirements.
- Prepares complex reconciliation of student accounts.
- Tuition Allocation Model: Serves as primary point of contact for TAM in Tableau.
- Works with Integrated Reporting team on dashboards for TAM.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Completion of the CPA accounting program (CA, CGA or CMA).
- Minimum of five years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of progressive financial and management experience in a complex unionized organization.
- Demonstrated experience with reconciliations and analysis of financial data.
- Previous experience in supervision of day to day accounting operations.
- Experience with financial planning, budgeting and controls.
- Proficiency in financial management systems including Workday, Adaptive, Tableau, PowerPivot.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and supervisory skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Compensation Range
- CAD 7,502.25 CAD 10,788.33 CAD Monthly
