Responsibilities
- Drive AI first development by embedding AI assisted tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot) into daily workflow
- Architect scalable financial solutions: design and maintain data models and solution architectures across Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP
- Build intelligent integrations between accounting systems, data lakes, and internal applications using SQL, PL/SQL, REST, SOAP, JSON
- Identify system inefficiencies and deploy automation to scale financial workflows
- Translate complex accounting principles and business requirements into scalable technical designs and documentation
Requirements
- Proven hands on experience configuring, customizing, and supporting Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP
- Strong proficiency in relational databases, advanced SQL/PL/SQL, and web services (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
- Demonstrated experience in accounting process transformations, financial data modeling, and end to end solution architecture
- Ability to navigate complex organizational dependencies and break down technical debt
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) is nice to have
- Experience navigating peripheral financial modules (Tax, FCCS) is nice to have
- Previous experience in fintech, banking, or cryptocurrency platforms is nice to have

The Role
- Block is looking for a strategic, hands on Systems Engineer to lead the next wave of finance technology transformation.
- This role owns the architecture and scaling of the technology stack powering core financial engine across Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and FP&A.
- We operate with an AI first engineering mindset.
You will:
- Drive AI first development: Embed AI assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot) into your daily workflow.
- Architect scalable financial solutions: Design and maintain robust data models and solution architectures across Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP.
- Build intelligent integrations: Architect, build, and support seamless integrations between accounting systems, data lakes, and internal applications using SQL, PL/SQL and integration technologies (REST, SOAP, JSON).
- Operational excellence: Actively identify system inefficiencies and deploy automation to scale financial workflows.
- Own technical execution: Translate complex accounting principles and business requirements into concrete, scalable technical designs and comprehensive documentation.
Qualifications:
- Oracle Fusion Expertise: Proven hands on experience configuring, customizing, and supporting Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP.
- Data Engineering Skills: Strong proficiency in relational databases, advanced SQL/PL/SQL, and web services (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
- Systems Architecture: Demonstrated experience in accounting process transformations, financial data modeling, and end to end solution architecture.
- Pragmatic Problem Solver: Ability to navigate complex organizational dependencies, breaking down technical debt into streamlined, automated processes.
Nice to haves:
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
- Experience navigating peripheral financial modules intersecting with accounting data (Tax, FCCS).
