Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental bottom up equity research across the global TMT universe
- Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas supported by rigorous financial and industry analysis
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks and investment theses
- Perform extensive company, competitor and industry research through management meetings, channel checks and primary research
- Analyse earnings, industry trends, product cycles and competitive dynamics to identify investment opportunities
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers to develop and monitor investment positions
- Evaluate private companies and emerging technologies, including pre IPO and IPO opportunities
- Monitor portfolio holdings and communicate changes in investment conviction
- Present investment recommendations clearly and confidently to senior investment professionals
Requirements
- 10–15 years' experience in equity research or investing covering the Technology sector
- Expertise in software, hardware and/or semiconductors
- Demonstrated experience within a Long/Short equity investment strategy
- Strong exposure to pre IPO and IPO investments
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements and capital markets
- Proven track record of generating alpha producing investment ideas
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline

Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental bottom up equity research across the global TMT universe.
- Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas supported by rigorous financial and industry analysis.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks and investment theses.
- Perform extensive company, competitor and industry research through management meetings, channel checks and primary research.
- Analyse earnings, industry trends, product cycles and competitive dynamics to identify investment opportunities.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers to develop and monitor investment positions.
- Evaluate private companies and emerging technologies, including pre IPO and IPO opportunities, assessing valuation, market positioning and investment potential.
- Monitor portfolio holdings and communicate changes in investment conviction as new information becomes available.
- Present investment recommendations clearly and confidently to senior investment professionals.
Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years' experience in equity research or investing covering the Technology sector, with expertise in software, hardware and/or semiconductors.
- Demonstrated experience within a Long/Short equity investment strategy.
- Experience on both the buy side and sell side is strongly preferred but would consider one if experience is outstanding.
- Strong exposure to pre IPO and IPO investments, including company analysis and valuation.
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements and capital markets.
- Proven track record of generating alpha producing investment ideas.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex investment theses.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. MBA and/or CFA qualification is advantageous.
