Role overview
Produce electrical building services designs primarily for railway stations and other railway buildings.
Work independently or as part of a team while coordinating projects from conception through completion.
Supervise and mentor Assistant Engineers and Engineers in day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities
- Design 230/400-volt low-voltage reticulation and distribution systems, including UPS sources.
- Use AMTECH for low-voltage design, cable selection, protective device selection and result checking.
- Design general and emergency lighting systems using industry-standard lighting design software.
- Design cable management systems and prepare sizing calculations for trunking, tray and conduits.
- Use Bentley MicroStation and AECOsim for 3D MEP modeling and 2D section generation.
- Work with BIM and a Common Data Environment, preferably Bentley ProjectWise.
- Supervise and verify designers' and modellers' work against project requirements.
- Interpret English-language client specifications and guide engineers developing electrical designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8–11 years of electrical design experience.
