Role Overview
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure Linux-based systems for embedded devices, including ARM and MIPS devices, IoT hubs, and gateways.
Work across the full product lifecycle, from bootloader and board bring-up through kernel optimization, middleware integration, and production provisioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, establish architectural guidelines, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead embedded Linux system architecture and select appropriate middleware, libraries, and kernel versions.
- Develop and maintain custom BSPs with U-Boot optimization, Device Tree configuration, and kernel customization.
- Develop and optimize Linux kernel drivers and modules for I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, USB, display, and camera interfaces.
- Build embedded Linux user-space applications in C and C++ using IPC, POSIX threads, and sockets.
- Customize firmware images with Yocto Project or Buildroot.
- Optimize boot time, CPU and memory usage, and power consumption.
- Implement secure boot, HSM integration, and reliable OTA update mechanisms such as SWUpdate or Mender.
- Perform deep debugging with GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, perf, strace, and related tools.
