About the role
GCS is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for a UAE-based Sovereign AI company with frontier-model access and agentic AI products.
The role owns infrastructure and deployment pipelines for AI systems running in production across cloud and on-premise environments.
What you will own
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and scalable infrastructure for AI model deployment and lifecycle management.
- Automate provisioning with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation and optimize resources for scale and cost.
- Manage queuing systems and real-time streaming architectures for AI and data workloads.
- Own monitoring, logging, alerting, root cause analysis, and post-mortems for production reliability.
- Monitor system metrics and machine learning model performance.
- Meet SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security and compliance standards.
- Manage secrets with Vault or AWS Secrets Manager.
- Participate in a rotating production support on-call schedule.
What the employer is looking for
- At least 5 years of DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong Kubernetes and Docker skills with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog and solid networking fundamentals.
- Experience in high-traffic production environments.
Nice to have
- Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Pulumi.
- Service mesh experience with Istio or Linkerd.
- Vector and SQL or NoSQL database administration experience.
Work setup
- The role is based in Abu Dhabi and is contract-based.
- Onboarding is expected as soon as possible.
