Now Brewing – senior designer, digital products #tobeapartner
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
This critical role will be part of the Partner Experience Design team, responsible for designing and enhancing digital experiences used by Starbucks partners across stores and support organizations. The team collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to identify partner needs, define experience strategies, and deliver intuitive, scalable solutions. In addition, the team serves as a strategic partner throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring partner-facing applications are human-centered, operationally effective, and aligned to both business and technology objectives.
As a lead digital designer, you will…
Work independently on a product team focused on major employee-facing features (as described above) and communicate rationale, and background for design decisions.
Demonstrate ability to design for iOS, Android, and Web.
Demonstrate a deep expertise of the many facets of human-centered design and user experience spanning UX strategy, experience/interaction design, user research/assessment, prototyping, visual design, and user adoption.
Collaborate with product management to define features and how they map to customer and business need.
Prioritize your own work and contribute to the prioritization of team’s work and projects.
Work with other product designers to receive and provide constructive critiques.
Work with data scientists and user experience researchers to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of design work.
Collaborate to make recommendations on what data to collect.
Work quickly and effectively on multiple complex projects. Ships brand new features, bug fixes on existing features and small improvements in response to customer needs.
Design interactions for new features, applying existing design patterns and creating new ones across our platforms.
Serve as a mentor to other designers, supporting their growth and development.
Build and prototype designs using a variety of web front-end internal tools as well as native prototyping tools.
Demonstrate collaboration and innovation.
Demonstrate ability to work in a product organization, driving design from planning to release over multiple releases.
Work closely with developers to iterate to a point of functionality then to a point of pixel perfection.
Demonstrate strong visual design skill, especially in the construction of visual hierarchies on layouts, and attention to detail on typography, spacing, and colors.
Remain informed of the latest digital trends and process methodologies.
Demonstrate understanding of common front-end / UI technologies and an interest to learn more in this space.
Demonstrate ability to utilize Sketch or prototyping tools such as Principle or Framer.
Demonstrate ability to communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and design details verbally and in writing
