As a Manager, Technology FinOps in the Unified Cloud organization, you will lead Starbucks enterprise FinOps practice, driving cloud financial accountability, cost transparency, optimization, and value realization across our hybrid and multi-cloud environment.
As a Manager, Technology FinOps, you will:
- Develop and mature Starbucks FinOps strategy, governance models, operating practices, and financial accountability frameworks.
- Lead cloud financial management across Azure, AWS, private cloud, and on-premises environments, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Implement and manage showback, chargeback, cost allocation, tagging, hierarchy, and ownership models that improve transparency and accountability.
- Partner with Technology, Finance, Sourcing, Enterprise Architecture, and Operations teams to align technology investments with business objectives.
- Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing, utilization management, commitment planning, workload placement, and modernization opportunities.
- Deliver executive-ready dashboards, KPI scorecards, forecasting models, business cases, and TCO analyses that support strategic decision-making.
- Lead automation of cost controls, anomaly detection, savings tracking, and cloud financial reporting processes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor who translates technology decisions into financial impact, business value, ROI, and risk considerations.
- Influence and enable adoption of FinOps practices across engineering, product, operations, finance, and leadership teams.
- Lead and develop partners while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
We’d love to hear from people with:
- 5+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, infrastructure cost management, cloud operations, product management, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting large-scale hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including Azure and AWS.
- Strong expertise in forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, cost optimization, KPI development, and executive reporting.
- Experience implementing financial governance frameworks, showback/chargeback models, cost allocation standards, and accountability mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner across technical, financial, and executive stakeholder groups.
- Experience translating technical architecture decisions into business outcomes, TCO, ROI, and investment recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred
- FinOps Foundation certifications or experience with enterprise FinOps maturity models.
- Experience with cloud cost management platforms, Power BI, Databricks, APIs, and automation technologies.
- Experience supporting marketplace procurement, reserved capacity planning, and enterprise optimization programs.
- Experience with business value measurement, TCO/ROI benchmarking, and multi-cloud strategy initiatives.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role.
