About the Role
Mace is seeking an experienced Senior Design Compliance Manager – MEP to provide independent design assurance and engineering oversight of MEP works on a major mixed-use development programme in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
- Act as part of the Engineer’s team, providing independent review, verification and approval of MEP related design and construction deliverables.
- Lead MEP design compliance during construction, ensuring all works align with approved IFC documentation, specifications and Employer’s Requirements.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs and technical submissions, ensuring compliance with design intent and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical oversight of MEP installations on site, verifying workmanship, system integration and adherence to approved designs.
- Identify and manage design deviations, non compliance and technical risks, issuing instructions and driving resolution with contractors and design consultants.
- Oversee coordination of mechanical, electrical, public health, ELV and specialist systems within complex, multi disciplinary environments.
- Ensure compliance of specialist systems relevant to large scale venues (e.g. lighting, broadcast, life safety, resilience and redundancy systems).
- Support the review and issuance of Engineer’s Instructions, approvals and technical certifications in line with contract requirements.
- Interface with contractors, supervision teams and consultants to ensure clear interpretation and implementation of design requirements.
- Support authority inspections, approvals and statutory compliance processes.
- Participate in system testing, commissioning and handover, ensuring performance aligns with operational requirements.
- Provide regular reporting on design compliance, risks and construction performance to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Proven experience operating in a design compliance / design management / engineering assurance role during construction
- Strong experience acting for or alongside the Engineer on major projects under FIDIC or similar contracts
- Demonstrable experience reviewing and approving shop drawings, submittals and MEP installations
- Experience delivering large scale infrastructure, sports, entertainment or complex public developments
- Strong understanding of MEP systems integration, site coordination and commissioning processes
- Experience within the Middle East, with strong knowledge of authority and regulatory requirements (KSA preferred)
- Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) preferred
- Strong stakeholder management and technical communication skills

Position Overview

- Mace is seeking an experienced Senior Design Compliance Manager – MEP to support a major programme currently in the construction phase, acting in the capacity of the Engineer.
You’ll be responsible for
- Act as part of the Engineer’s team, providing independent review, verification and approval of MEP related design and construction deliverables.

You’ll need to have
