Job Description
The role manages, supports, and optimizes cloud-based database platforms hosted on AWS.
The primary environments are AWS RDS for PostgreSQL and MySQL and Aurora PostgreSQL.
The role covers database administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, incident management, and Infrastructure as Code.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents involving AWS database platforms and cloud infrastructure.
- Assess incident severity and business impact and drive resolution and stakeholder communication.
- Manage database infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible and automate provisioning, patching, upgrades, backups, and recovery.
- Perform root cause analysis and improve platform stability, performance, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with application, cloud, security, DevOps, and global teams on database platform services.
- Optimize databases through query tuning, indexing, capacity planning, monitoring, and operational controls.
