Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in production environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong command of SQL databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Proficiency in NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Redis or Document DB.
  • Advanced knowledge of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views development.
  • Experience with database design, normalization, denormalization, and data modelling.
  • Expertise in indexing strategies, query execution plans, and performance profiling.
  • Strong understanding of database internals, storage engines, and transaction management

  • In-depth knowledge of database security, encryption, and access control mechanisms

  • Understanding of audit logging, compliance reporting, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with data privacy, data masking, and sensitive data management
  • Advanced knowledge of backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity
  • Experience with high availability solutions: replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms
  • Proven track record of successful disaster recovery testing and execution
  • Expertise in database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization
  • Experience with monitoring tools: Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
  • Proficiency in identifying and resolving database bottlenecks proactively
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages
  • Experience with automation tools: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, or Chef
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and database DevOps practices
