Role description

The Senior Data Scientist leads and oversees technical delivery of Arcadis digital and analytical solutions.

The role implements solutions for customers, maximising the value of their data to solve business problems.

The role sits in the Asset Management service area within the Solutions Delivery group.

Role accountabilities

  • Drive quality and innovation in data analytics solutions and disseminate best practice in approaches and tooling.
  • Manage analytical projects to deliver on time, within budget, to high quality and within scope.
  • Act as analytics solution architect and design solutions that can be reused for other clients with minimal rework.
  • Develop trusted relationships with client representatives and peer review reports, dashboards and code.
  • Support business development through technical sales support, software demonstrations and proposal writing.
  • Identify additional revenue opportunities and ensure delivered services and software realise business benefits.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience delivering analytical projects in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytics, optimisation and numerical modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical detail to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience presenting methodologies and results to business stakeholders and coaching technology professionals.
  • Understanding of investment models, assets and systems of assets, including optimisation, prioritisation and Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Experience in predictive or prescriptive analytics, machine learning, mathematical modelling and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrable use of R, Python, Matlab, SAS, SPSS or similar statistical packages.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Qlik, Power BI and open-source visualisation tools.
  • Experience with Git, Docker, Azure or Fabric.

Client and team interaction

  • The role is client-facing throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution demonstrations, results presentation, training and adoption support.
  • The role works with global Solutions Delivery, Product and Technology teams and the wider business.
