Role overview
The Senior Data Engineer will work on project initiatives involving data, architecture, design, development, testing, and application support.
The role collaborates with Product Owners, Product Managers, Development Leads, Quality Engineering, and application support teams.
Responsibilities
- Determine development and technical solutions that meet business requirements and project objectives.
- Perform detailed design and development and resolve technical issues.
- Align solutions with the data and architecture strategy.
- Maintain technical and reference documentation and training.
- Support production troubleshooting and coordinate testing and verification with Quality Engineering.
- Share knowledge, apply experience, and mentor other team members.
Required qualifications
- At least 5 years of total professional experience, including 2 to 3 years with Spark using Scala or Python, big data, Databricks, Airflow, and dbt.
- Solid experience with Apache Hadoop, Hive, ETL, data pipelines, or another big-data platform, plus Cloudera.
- Experience with Windows, Unix, or Linux operating systems.
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in computer science, engineering, or a related technology discipline.
- Solid communication and time management skills.
