Key skills for this role
Armada is hiring a Senior Data Center BIM Designer to support the Galleon, Leviathan, and Orion product lines — a brand-new capability for the company. As we scale Modular Data Center (MDC) deployments across a growing number of sites and geographies, we need someone who can own the BIM thread that ties every discipline together — civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, piping, controls, and ICT — into a single coordinated model and build the BIM and drawing standards infrastructure.
You will build and own Armada's fully integrated BIM model spanning CSA, MEP, controls, ICT, produce and govern drawing packages for containerized and modular form factors (ISO shipping containers, e-houses, and skid-mounted equipment with PEMB buildings), and set the drawing libraries, standard details, templates, title blocks, and naming conventions the rest of the design team will build on. This is a facility-level BIM role — you'll build and coordinate the full data center model and drawings rather than modeling individual equipment from scratch, incorporating 3D models supplied by equipment manufacturers and vendors into the facility model. You'll also be the senior technical authority and cross-discipline escalation point, working directly with product and engineering leadership to embed repeatable, scalable BIM practices into new product development (Galleon/Leviathan/Orion) from day one.
Location. This role is remote-based on the continental US (approximately 10–20% travel to project sites, fabrication facilities, and vendor/GC locations).
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Integrated, all-discipline BIM ownership — Build and maintain one coordinated Revit/BIM model covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, piping, controls, and ICT for both the existing Modular Data Center (MDC) product line and new product development (Galleon/Leviathan/Orion), so the whole data center lives in one model instead of different disciplines working in isolation.
BIM/drawing standards from the ground up — Build and own the drawing libraries, standard details, templates, Revit families, title blocks, and naming/layer conventions for CSA and MEP alike — the framework the rest of the design team will work within going forward.
Senior technical authority on containerized and prefab drawing packages — Own how new form factors — ISO shipping containers, e-houses, skid-mounted equipment with PEMB buildings — get modeled and documented end to end across all MDC disciplines, setting the pattern the rest of the team follows.
Cross-discipline coordination — Run clash detection/coordination across all MDC disciplines, review design output against standards and the master model, and act as the single escalation point when disciplines conflict.

Repeatable, scalable design for new product development — Work directly with product/engineering leadership to define modular BIM templates and campus-level design patterns across the full discipline set as new products are developed — shaping how Galleon/Leviathan scales, not just documenting decisions made elsewhere.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on BIM/CAD design and drafting experience in commercial, industrial, or modular/offshore projects — with deep, hands-on experience in either CSA (civil, structural, architectural) or MEP (mechanical, electrical, piping) and strong working knowledge of the other, plus demonstrated ability to coordinate across both.
Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with demonstrated ability to build and manage multi-discipline models and run clash detection/coordination (Navisworks or equivalent).
Ability to build BIM/drawing standards, libraries, templates, title blocks, and naming/layer conventions.
Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy — you'll be defining the playbook, not inheriting one.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10–20% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and vendor/GC locations worldwide.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with containerized, modular/prefabricated, or skid-mounted data center drawing packages — ISO shipping containers, e-houses, or skid-mounted equipment with PEMB or existing/new buildings.
Experience integrating controls/BMS and ICT (structured cabling, low voltage, fire alarm, security) scope into a single coordinated BIM model.
Experience standing up design standards, templates, or governance processes for a growing team, rather than only executing against existing ones.
Background collaborating directly with product/hardware engineering teams on new product development, not just project-based site work.
Autodesk Certified Professional (BIM Management for Building Design or discipline-specific Revit).
Experience administering a CDE (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360), familiarity with ISO 19650/openBIM standards, and reality capture (ReCap) for as-built verification.
4D/5D BIM capability — experience linking models to project schedules (4D, e.g., Navisworks TimeLiner or Synchro) and cost/quantity takeoffs (5D, e.g., Assemble Systems), to support sequencing and cost forecasting for repeatable MDC deployments.
Compensation & Benefits
For U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the starting base salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits (details available upon request).
We use a geographic pay structure based on cost-of-labor markets.
Tier 1 (e.g., SF Bay Area, NYC, Seattle): $118,800 - $148,500
Tier 2 (most U.S. metro areas): $103,280 - $129,100
Tier 3 (other cities): $98,160 - $122,700
Final compensation will be determined by experience, scope, and level, and may vary from the posted range.
