Role Overview
The Senior Data Analyst is the primary data analyst and report developer for MCAP's Single Family Operations.
The role uses advanced SQL, Excel, visualization tools, and reporting automation to improve operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
The position works with business units, internal technology teams, and leadership to develop reporting and technology solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and automate reporting and translate business needs into documented reporting and system requirements.
- Extract, integrate, cleanse, transform, and analyze data from multiple systems while maintaining accuracy and integrity.
- Build automated reporting solutions using SSIS and SSRS and create comprehensive datasets for analysis.
- Review analysis outputs, support end-user testing and sign-off, and document reporting procedures and changes.
- Identify data gaps, risks, cross-functional impacts, and mitigation strategies and support issue resolution.
- Provide subject matter expertise, business case support, recommendations, and progress updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with business units and IT to develop solutions, resolve issues, assess impacts, and implement process or technology improvements.
- Build cross-functional relationships while handling sensitive information confidentially.
- Communicate findings through reports and presentations and escalate relevant problems with recommended action plans.
- Identify opportunities to combine similar requests and improve the efficiency of report generation.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Information Technology concepts and core application systems.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and visualization tools.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and working in an Agile environment.
- Experience with cross-departmental impact analysis, business case development, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Extensive knowledge of test case analysis and definition.
- University degree, college diploma, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in a data role is preferred.
- IIBA, PMI, or similar professional certification is preferred.
Compensation
- The salary range for the position is $80,000 to $87,000.
Position Details
The position is permanent full time and has one opening in the Residential department.
The internal job title is Sr Data Analyst (SF Ops).
