Responsibilities
- Conduct problem research, deep dive analysis, apply advanced analytics and ML techniques to uncover trends and insights
- Design high impact reports and visuals to tell compelling data stories that inspire action
- Lead strategic projects using standard and advanced analytics, automation, business intelligence, opportunity analysis, forecasting, and simulations
- Design and implement experiments that influence customer experience
- Develop and maintain scalable reporting and machine learning models for self serve access to descriptive and predictive insights
- Build deep understanding of stakeholder needs, guide through complexity, influence decisions, and develop data solutions
- Nurture the analytics community, establish standards and best practices, mentor fellow analysts
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of senior analytics experience executing enterprise analytics initiatives in a retail setting
- Mastery of SQL (including optimization), Python (data prep, analysis, visualization, ML, automation), and Power BI (data modeling, DAX, M, dashboard UX design)
- Experience breaking down complex business problems into actionable data solutions using statistical methods, modeling, or machine learning
- Experience partnering with diverse stakeholders and making complex data concepts clear

Role Overview
- Best Buy is hiring a Senior Data Analyst for a 12 month fixed term contract.
- The role is remote first with in person interactions at the Vancouver head office for strategic purposes.
- The analyst will work with business leaders and cross functional teams to harness data and drive strategy.
What you’ll do
- Be the go to data expert for business decision support: conduct problem research, deep dive analysis, apply advanced analytics and ML techniques.
- Design high impact reports and visuals to tell compelling data stories.
- Lead strategic projects using standard and advanced analytics, automation, business intelligence, opportunity analysis, forecasting, and simulations.

Compensation
- Annualized compensation range: CAD 95,000 CAD 105,000.
- Starting pay will consider skills and experience.
