Role Overview
Serve as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer supporting mission-critical cybersecurity programs that protect Department of Defense systems.
Act as a key technical authority for security design, risk assessments, and authorization strategies.
Work independently and collaboratively while mentoring junior engineers and driving system accreditation.
Workplace and Clearance
- The position is identified as an onsite workplace in Springfield, Virginia.
- The stated clearance level is Top Secret/SCI.
- U.S. citizenship is required and travel is listed as none.
What You Will Do
- Lead development, assessment, and authorization of complex DoD systems through RMF processes, including DAAPM 2.2, JSIG Rev 4, and ICD-503.
- Own RMF documentation such as SSPs, POA&Ms, SCTMs, risk assessments, and related artifacts.
- Guide ATO and IATO achievement and ensure continuous monitoring and compliance.
- Architect advanced cybersecurity controls and lead vulnerability scanning, analysis, and mitigation.
- Develop and operationalize AI and machine-learning capabilities for threat detection, anomaly identification, automated analysis, and defensive decision support.
