Role overview

Qualifications and experience

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Building Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a similar discipline.
• The qualification pathway requires extensive construction-industry experiential learning and 7 or more years of Middle East experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in a project or commercial management role.
• Progressively increased responsibility and experience on relevant projects of an appropriate scale.
• UAE experience is preferred.
• Active membership of a relevant professional institution such as RICS is desirable.

Key responsibilities

• Keep abreast of construction-industry business and technical developments to support planning and change management.
• Monitor market conditions and recommend changes or adaptations to development plans.
• Advise the Development Director on operating risks, poor performance, remedial actions, claims, and variation orders.
• Develop cost control systems and financial reporting with the finance and controls department.
• Monitor commercial staff performance and provide direction, mentoring, training, and resource coordination.
• Establish procedures integrating development management, commercial, planning, procurement, and financial activities.
• Ensure decisions follow commercial procedures and support the best solution for the company, client, and project.
• Perform procurement, pre-contract and design commercial management, and post-contract or supervision commercial management.
