Role Overview
The employer is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Systems Administrator.
The role designs, manages, and supports cloud and network infrastructure across multiple client environments.
The position owns the availability, security, and performance of cloud and network systems, ensures SLA compliance, and serves as a senior technical escalation point.
Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Administer TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, firewalls, and routing.
- Manage hybrid cloud connectivity using site-to-site VPN, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute.
- Automate provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and/or Ansible.
- Implement and maintain IAM and privileged access management controls.
Operations and Delivery
- Monitor availability, capacity, and performance and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
- Support cloud security and compliance requirements, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure performance and costs.
- Support CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring or observability environments.
- Participate in client onboarding, infrastructure assessments, and cloud migration projects.
Client and Team Support
- Manage incidents and requests through PSA, RMM, or ITSM platforms such as ConnectWise, Autotask, Kaseya, or ServiceNow.
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and runbooks.
- Communicate directly with clients and act as a technical escalation point.
- Mentor junior administrators and participate in on-call support when required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on networking experience.
- Strong networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting or CIDR, NAT, VPNs, firewalls, OSPF, and BGP.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Ansible.
Technical Requirements
- Experience with IAM and PAM solutions such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust, or HashiCorp Vault.
- Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring or observability tools.
- Experience with PSA, RMM, or ITSM and ticketing platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage multiple client environments and SLA priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS, Azure, or GCP professional certifications are preferred.
- CCNP or higher networking certification is preferred.
- MSP, IT services, or consulting experience is preferred.
- Cloud migration, regulated-environment, and cloud cost-optimization experience are preferred.
- Client-facing communication and mentoring skills are preferred.
