About the Role

Development and Engineering

• Design and develop scalable cloud services and APIs for connected products.
• Build IoT connectivity platforms using AWS IoT Core for reliable device-to-cloud communication.
• Collaborate with mobile, embedded, and hardware teams on connected product experiences.
• Define and refine product requirements with product management.
• Implement distributed systems using Lambda, Docker, Fargate, and AWS services.
• Write, execute, and automate tests for reliability, performance, and quality at scale.
• Monitor, debug, and optimize cloud infrastructure using CloudWatch.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

Technical Collaboration

• Collaborate with senior technical leaders on cloud and IoT architecture decisions.
• Partner with QA, mobile, and firmware engineers on integration across the stack.
• Contribute to technical discussions and refine engineering standards and patterns.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Share knowledge and best practices with the broader engineering team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience focused on cloud-native development.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Python, and Go.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, IoT Core, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and SNS/SQS.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, including AWS CDK.
• Understanding of full-stack architecture and cloud-to-mobile integration patterns.
• Experience working with cross-functional development teams.
• Knowledge of MQTT, HTTP/REST, and WebSockets.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kinesis, message queues, serverless architectures, and Docker.
• Background in connected devices, IoT ecosystems, or large-scale device management platforms.
• Knowledge of BLE and WiFi connectivity protocols.
• Experience with Rust, C/C++, or other systems programming languages.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, AI-powered development tools, or prompt engineering.
• Background in robotics, consumer electronics, or smart home products.
• Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to open source projects.

Technical Skills

• Required technologies include TypeScript, Python, Go, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SNS/SQS, AWS CDK, MQTT, HTTP/REST, WebSockets, Docker, Git, and AWS CodePipeline or similar CI/CD.
• Nice-to-have technologies include Rust, C/C++, Kinesis, Step Functions, API Gateway, S3, Athena, BLE, WiFi, distributed tracing, AWS Bedrock, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
