Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (Site Supervision)

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect structural construction activities for compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports documenting progress, issues, and corrective actions.
• Review structural designs, drawings, and construction methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian building codes, safety regulations, and international construction standards.
• Identify structural deficiencies or deviations and implement corrective measures.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain the project schedule.
• Manage quality control testing and material verification, approving or rejecting work against technical specifications.
• Maintain daily logs, inspection records, and technical correspondence.
• Conduct safety audits and promote safety compliance across construction activities.
• Recommend design modifications and value engineering opportunities.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets and mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Have at least 15 years of professional experience in civil or structural engineering.
• Have at least 5 years of direct site supervision experience on major construction projects.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design principles.
• Have strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction regulations, particularly Saudi Arabian standards.
• Have expertise in quality assurance and quality control methodologies.
• Be proficient with structural analysis software and AutoCAD.
• Have excellent technical documentation and report writing skills.
• Demonstrate strong project coordination, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Understand construction safety protocols and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BIM software and project management tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel construction techniques is preferred.
• Experience supervising large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects is preferred.
• A professional engineering license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience working on projects in the Middle East region is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.
