What You’ll Do

Lead certification projects for avionics systems or subsystems from planning through final approval.

Coordinate with regulatory authorities, DERs, and auditors to secure approvals and close compliance gaps.

Drive certification strategies to meet FAA, EASA, and global airworthiness standards.

Develop and maintain certification plans, test reports, IMs, PGAs, compliance matrices, and ICAs.

Define certification strategy and means of compliance.

Partner with systems, software, and hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of certification requirements throughout design and development.

Coordinate conformity inspections, audits, and reviews with FAA, EASA, and DERs.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and contribute to certification best practices.

Stay current on evolving regulations and contribute to process improvements.

Knowledge & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Aerospace, or related Engineering.

5+ years of certification or systems engineering experience (3+ with a Master’s).

Proven experience managing FAA certification programs (TSO, STC, or TC).

Hands-on knowledge of DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761 compliance standards.

Experience coordinating with regulatory authorities and DERs.

Attributes

Detail-oriented engineer who thrives on clarity and takes ownership of complex certification efforts.

Excellent communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and lead certification efforts with minimal supervision.

Preferred

Master’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.

Experience with EASA validation.

Experience with multi-system integration projects.

Pilot’s license, flight training, or strong knowledge of general aviation operations.

Track record of process improvement in certification or compliance.
