Senior Capital Program Planning Analyst

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, public policy, finance, economics, engineering, or a related role from an accredited institution. Four (4) years of relevant experience in a planning, public policy, financial, engineering, quantitative analysis, and/or research-related role. Effective organizational, analytical (quantitative and qualitative), writing, multi-tasking, and time management skills. Advanced skill in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualizations applications. Demonstrated ability to organize data, draw insights and conclusions from limited or imperfect information, and translate complex concepts and datasets into clear, digestible communications. Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders, synthesize information, and translate complex topics into a format that is digestible and accessible. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce. Demonstrated experience in data analysis, project and stakeholder management, and development of public-facing content. Ability to learn new systems and tools with limited direction. Ability to provide internal and external customers with courteous and professional experiences. Ability to work effectively, independently, and as part of a diverse workforce team across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (or supervise, if required). Ability to uphold the rights and interests of the MBTA while building and maintaining effective relationships with employees and co-workers. Substitutions A high school diploma or GED with an additional seven (7) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelor’s degree requirement. An associate’s degree from an accredited institution and an additional three (3) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelor’s degree requirement. A master’s degree in a related subject substitutes for two (2) years of general experience. A nationally recognized certification, or statewide/professional certification in a related field substitutes for one (1) year of experience.
