Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in understanding capabilities in complicated interconnected systems and documenting them
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or engineering field or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of industry best practices and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Financial and Investment systems knowledge preferred
- CBAP certification considered an asset

Job Summary
- The Senior Business Analyst for Program Management & Delivery Platform Engineering, AI and Advanced Analytics will deliver products and platforms for OMERS Investments to analyze investment opportunities and support transformational initiatives.
- Works closely with investment teams including Capital Markets, Infrastructure, Private Equity, Growth Equity, and Ventures, as well as Finance, Risk & Compliance teams.
- Responsible for improving data and analytics capabilities, championing industry best practices, and delivering high quality business requirements.
Technical Responsibilities
- Document existing business processes, identify opportunities to create efficiencies, and ensure technical teams understand what to build to automate them.
- Analyze existing systems’ functionality, data, and infrastructure and how they communicate with other systems.
- Identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases using user stories, requirements documents, use case diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
- Investigate, evaluate, and propose solutions to identified problems.
- Chair design review sessions, ensuring requirements are accurately captured and understood.
- Define and execute business test plans, perform performance and integration tests, and help automate regression tests.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and team to understand and deliver against the goals.
- Operate in a hybrid Agile/waterfall development environment.
- Communicate effectively with other analysts and various partners such as product managers, data engineers, IT infrastructure specialists, security specialists, enterprise architects and senior management.
- Lead change and communicate impacts to partners and fellow team members.
- Identify, define and implement opportunities for improving existing processes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
- Serve as a liaison to the business community.
- Lead small projects in the role of project manager.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in understanding capabilities in complicated interconnected systems and documenting them; financial industry application preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or engineering field of study or equivalent work experience.
- CBAP certification is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and ability to ask probing questions to uncover underlying business needs.
- Financial and Investment systems knowledge preferred.
- Experience working in Private or Capital Markets is advantageous.
- Consistent track record of building deep business relationships.
- Motivated and keen to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on team success.
Compensation
- Expected salary range: CAD 86,000 CAD 130,000 per year.
- Eligible for annual Incentive Award pursuant to Short term Incentive plan and Long Term Incentive plan (if applicable).
- Eligible to participate in group benefits and retirement plans.
Workplace
- Flexible hybrid work guideline requires teams to come into the office 4 days per week.
