About the Role

Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems supporting advanced data center satellites.

Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, and compute engineers on solutions for space applications.

Company Mission

Cowboy Space Corporation is developing modular satellites for space-based solar energy, orbital computing, and secure optical data transport.

Its systems support energy distribution, data processing, ISAM operations, remote regions, and military bases.

Responsibilities

  • Design and test satellite electrical hardware focused on compute power management, FPGA-based boards, and signal processing.
  • Develop schematics, PCB designs, and harness diagrams for laser systems and satellite subsystems.
  • Test and debug electrical hardware under varied environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, and compute engineering teams on system integration.
  • Maintain system requirements, design specifications, test plans, and other technical documentation.
  • Support thermal-vacuum, vibration, and electromagnetic-interference testing for space qualification.
  • Participate in customer and internal design reviews and recommend system improvements.
  • Improve electrical engineering laboratory design and development processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of electrical design experience, preferably in aerospace, satellite, or computing systems.
  • Circuit simulation and analysis experience using LTspice, spreadsheets, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators, soldering stations, or similar lab equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and electrical-system debugging skills in laboratory environments.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as Altium or OrCAD.
  • Familiarity with control systems, sensors, and optical platform integration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with accelerated computing systems.
  • Familiarity with space qualification standards and thermal-vacuum, vibration, or radiation testing.
  • Experience working with thermal and mechanical engineering teams.
  • Understanding of satellite electrical systems and space power distribution.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range is $150,000–$200,000, with the offer dependent on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
  • Benefits include equity, medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, parental leave, and possible relocation assistance.
  • The office provides daily lunch and a stocked kitchen.
