Senior Architect - Connectivity Platform

Job Purpose

Connectivity Platform Strategy and Architecture

• Shape roadmaps spanning CPE hardware, software, device management, and cloud orchestration.
• Define integrations for smart Wi-Fi, security, and speed-testing capabilities.
• Lead RFx activities, technology assessments, proofs of concept, and vendor due diligence.
• Guide strategic technology choices using performance, cost, total cost of ownership, and unit economics.
• Develop edge AI capabilities on home CPE and embed AI and agentic capabilities across platform experiences.
• Represent Liberty Global in standards bodies and open-source communities including Broadband Forum, CableLabs, Wi-Fi Alliance, CSA, and RDK.

Delivery, Governance, and Operations

• Partner with delivery teams and vendors on design reviews and adherence to principles, compliance, and value for money.
• Ensure ONEConnect and CPE architectures are secure, compliant, resilient, and scalable.
• Align architectures with European, Swiss, and UK regulations, including the EU AI Act and responsible AI principles.
• Balance global scalability with local market requirements across LTech and Customer Markets.
• Contribute to lifecycle strategy for firmware, APIs, and cloud services, including versioning, compatibility, deprecation, and upgrades.
• Act as a technology evangelist for ONEConnect across teams and operating markets.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level, or equivalent, in a STEM discipline.
• Proven experience as a technology leader in CPE and connectivity platforms.
• Strong experience with cloud-native platforms, APIs, applications, and connected consumer devices.
• Experience with large-scale cloud ecosystems, microservices, and AI-enabled platforms.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into customer-facing and operational connectivity systems.

Domain and Technical Knowledge

• Broad knowledge of Wi-Fi, DOCSIS, XGS-PON, Thread, Bluetooth, Zigbee, 3GPP, USP/TR-369, and IP networking.
• Strong understanding of embedded CPE software such as RDK-B, OpenWRT, OpenEmbedded, HALs, and SDKs.
• Working knowledge of edge inference, LLM or agentic systems, MLOps, and responsible AI.
• Ability to communicate clear, concise, technically robust recommendations to technical and business audiences.
• Experience leading through influence in a matrix organization.
• Fluent spoken and written English, with willingness to travel and work across time zones.
