Senior Android Engineer (Saudi National)

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Keep current with software development methodologies to provide software solutions.
• Analyze product requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, estimate effort, and collaborate with the Product Team.
• Build development components and transform requirements into working software.
• Document coding steps to support future modification and maintenance.
• Write unit, integration, and UI or snapshot tests.
• Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other means.
• Collaborate on code reviews and provide code review reports.
• Perform functional and module testing.
• Monitor product development and recommend improvements.
• Assist in user trials and acceptance testing.

Required Qualifications

• Have 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bring a strong foundation in design patterns and algorithms; Kotlin is preferred and Java is accepted.
• Have deep expertise in native Android development.
• Have hands-on experience delivering high-quality, testable code with modern mobile architectures.
• Understand the Android lifecycle, including Activities and Fragments.
• Have practical experience with Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks.
• Demonstrate engineering excellence and impact on complex, non-trivial systems.
• Have strong project prioritization and multitasking abilities and mastery of Git.
• Understand Modern Android Development practices and toolkits including ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and Dagger2.
• Understand modular app architecture principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Be able to design and implement maintainable, scalable new modules.
• Be familiar with AI tools, APIs, and machine learning integration in mobile applications.

Preferred and Additional Skills

• Experience with native iOS or Flutter is highly desirable.
• Open-source contributions and technical publications are a strong plus.
• Experience with Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane automation, or the Checkout.com SDK is nice to have.
