About the Role

- Develop and prepare enhanced management reporting, analysis and key metrics for Supply & Trading Leadership Team, Operations teams, Corporate FP&A
- Collaborate with Controllership and Front Office teams to develop forecasts and scenario analysis
- Support reporting package(s) with executive level explanations of operational results, business/market trends and recommendations
- Prepare consolidated monthly reporting and associated commentary
- Develop and prepare supplemental reporting to track progress of key initiatives
- Assist in developing detailed presentation of budget assumptions, key business drivers and variances for Senior Leadership Team
- Support consolidation and presentation of financial plans
- Prepare/support all financial planning activities for Supply and Trading teams, including annual budget and rolling monthly forecast
- Proactively work with Controlling and Operations teams to understand business and key performance drivers
- Prepare lookbacks to measure forecast accuracy and understand variances
- Identify opportunities to revamp and streamline processes
- Model business and 'what if' scenarios to support decision making
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, FPAC, CFA) strongly preferred
- 7+ years of relevant, progressive experience in a financial or business analyst role
- Strong knowledge of Oracle EPM, Power BI, Thinkcell, SAP, JDE and Great Plains considered an asset
- Advanced financial modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills including ability to manipulate large volumes of data
- Ability to develop relationships across departments and cultivate a collaborative approach to decision making
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and work collaboratively
- Highly motivated self starter with ability to multi task and thrive in fast paced environment

The Opportunity
- Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, this role is a key member of the Supply and Trading Team.
- The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting and improving financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities, coordinating with other Finance and Operations Teams to prepare robust plans, supporting analysis, while ensuring all key timelines are met and continually driving
- They will also work closely with the various divisional teams, to gain a deep understanding of their business and information needs to provide more insightful management reporting and financial analysis to support their decision making.
Responsibilities
- Monthly / Quarterly Reporting: Develop and prepare enhanced management reporting, analysis and key metrics to provide more transparency and insight into divisional performance for various stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with Controllership and Front Office teams to develop their respective forecasts and scenario analysis.
- Support reporting package(s) with executive level explanations of operational results, business/market trends and recommendation(s) to manage material variances.
- Prepare/support with business reviews.
- Prepare consolidated monthly reporting and associated commentary.
- Develop and prepare supplemental reporting to track progress of key initiatives.
- Annual Budgeting Process: Collaborate with Controllership and Front Office teams to develop their annual budget.
- Assist in developing a detailed presentation of budget assumptions, key business drivers and variances to relevant periods for the Senior Leadership Team.
- Financial Planning: Support consolidation and presentation of financial plans.
- Prepare/Support all financial planning activities for the Supply and Trading teams, working closely with the Finance, Operations and Corporate teams to manage timelines, gather and review inputs, the annual budget and the rolling monthly forecast, including EBITDA, Net Earnings, and Working Capital.
- Pro actively work with the Controlling and Operations teams to better understand their business and key performance drivers to develop more robust planning processes.
- Prepare lookbacks to measure forecast accuracy and understand all variances from plan (both controllable and uncontrollable) to improve predictability.
Education and Requirements
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, FPAC, CFA) strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant, progressive experience in a financial or business analyst role.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle EPM, Power BI, Thinkcell, SAP, JDE and Great Plains considered an asset.
- Advanced financial modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills including the ability to manipulate large volumes of data and extract value added information from multiple databases.
- Ability to develop relationships across departments and cultivate a collaborative approach to decision making.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information, strong organizational skills.
- Keen interest in understanding the key business drivers of the Divisions and challenging pre conceived interpretations of the impact of operational events and decisions on the financial results.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate analysis into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to think outside of the box, deal with ambiguity, exercise good judgement and challenge information.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes, work collaboratively and embrace new ways of doing things.
- Highly motivated and energetic self starter with a demonstrated ability to multi task and thrive in a fast paced and continually evolving work environment.
