Job Summary
Provide project accounting support within the designated region.
Assist project managers with financial transactions, administration, and analysis.
Support Finance with periodic reporting and month-end activities.
Transactional Activities
- Review project progress and highlight deviations from budget and JES.
- Interact with operational teams to share project insights and highlight risks.
- Monitor actual project costs, compare them with budgeted costs, and challenge overspends.
Periodic Activities
- Review project progress and perform regular project cost control reviews.
- Review open and accrued purchase orders and adjust cost accruals in accordance with GAAP.
- Follow up on timesheet approvals and target zero missing time.
- Prepare utilization reports and analyze productive and unproductive time.
- Provide working capital information for weekly cash forecasts.
- Prepare billing forecasts, analyze billings and collections, and update weekly cash flow reports.
Month-End Activities
- Review project financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Calculate project work in progress and prepare accounting entries under IFRS-15, including intercompany revenue.
- Support project forecasts covering revenue recognition, cost to complete, and variations.
- Review project financial opportunities, risks, and provisioning needs.
- Analyze debtors and bad debt provisions.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and ensure timely, quality reporting.
Yearly and Accountabilities
- Support audits covering revenue, accounts receivable, work in progress, and related provisions.
- Provide project and revenue information to auditors and address observations.
- Support regional budgets and forecasts and complete ad hoc business tasks.
- Maintain financial information integrity, meet deadlines, and raise project concerns promptly.
Minimum Qualification
- A financial qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or another relevant internationally recognized certification.
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and best practices.
Minimum Experience
- At least five years of proven experience as a Project Accountant.
- Expertise in MIS reporting.
- Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software.
Job-Specific Skills
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably MS Navision.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
