Job Summary
Working as a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities for assigned account(s) while partnering with the Senior Controller to support all financial operations across the region. This role requires strong collaboration with operational and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
This is a hybrid position with a strong preference for candidates based in Austin, TX or Nashville, TN. Key Responsibilities:
Perform transactional bookkeeping and accounting tasks, including preparation and posting of journal entries, general ledger allocations, and maintenance of financial records.
Support core accounting functions such as monthly and quarterly close processes, including accruals, billing, account reconciliations, and detailed balance sheet and P&L reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Analyze financial results for both internal and external use
Track, maintain, reconcile, and review monthly P/L and balance sheet activity, resolving any accounting/reconciliation issues
Develop forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities
Complete financial reports: monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including but not limited to monthly and fiscal close, internal and external audit reporting; manages report preparation and distribution
Execute project-based and process improvement work under the direction of management, contributing to ad hoc assignments, financial analyses, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial workflows and processes, and communicate findings to management to support decision-making, automation efforts, and strategic finance goals.
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial reporting, revenue analysis, and supporting month-end close processes, with a strong understanding of general accounting practices and financial systems
Ability to prepare monthly financial statements, key metric reports, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and analyses
Adept at planning, organizing and controlling complex processes as well as analyzing moderately complex financial information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; committed and enthusiastic approach to delivering solutions to business customers
Ability to multi-task between various priorities in an ever-changing environment
Excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills
Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel. SAP and S/4HANA experience a plus.
Strong analytical and organizational skills
